Inside The GQ Men of The Year 2013 Awards With Suki Waterhouse, Michael Douglas, Alexa Chung and Justin Timberlake

Last night saw a whole host of stars head out for GQ Men of the year 2013 Awards in association with Boss, Hugo Boss. And after a couple of Remy Martin cocktails at Hix restaurant, we hot footed it down the road to join them for a pretty spectacular party at the Royal Opera House.

Standing at the top of the escalators which would deliver the bevvy of celebrities from the dinner below into our waiting arms (not literally) there was only one thing on our minds - how would we tell Pharell Williams that we love him without entirely losing our cool? Sadly, we never found out the answer to that question as we didn’t see him, sob, but there were plenty of other people there to keep us entertained…

First up were Rick Edwards and George Lamb, deep in manly – we can only presume it was manly – conversation. Then up the moving stairs were a gorgeous Daisy Lowe, Suki Waterhouse, Tom Hiddleston, Rita Ora, Ellie Goulding and last but not least, Michael Douglas. We felt a bit sorry for Michael, who recently announced that he and his wife Catherine Zeta Jones are in the midst of a trail separation, as no sooner had he made it into the party than he was being mobbed by an overzealous fan, desperate for a picture. Needless to say he made a swift exit soon after…

Later in the evening we caught up with Pixie Lott who looked adorable in a white and pink Christian Dior number, she said, 'I really wanted to go for something fun and young, I'm always wearing these really sophisticated outfits and sometimes it's just nice to act your age. Plus, who doesn't love Dior?!’ Precisely Pixie. We also quizzed Miss.Lott on the rumours that she and her boyfriend model Oliver Cheshire are to follow in the footsteps of Sienna Miller and Tom Sturridge and become the next Burberry couple, refusing to answer yay or nay she merely said, ‘Well, we’re both huge fans of Burberry.’ Cryptic.

What we drank: Piper-Heidsieck Champagne
