1. Twinkle toes
It’s been a busy week shooting the stars of our Christmas special and the ladies in question were treated to some sparkling footwear. Gem and glitter encrusted Christian Louboutin, Valentino and Jimmy Choo shoes were key players in the shoot and were matched with decadent gowns. All will be revealed on Tuesday!
2. Elkin shopping
With all the Christmas present buying frenzy happening this week I thought it was only fair to treat myself to a little something! It would be rude not to, after all. I couldn’t resist the charms of stylist Eliisa Makin’s jewellery line, Elkin when the team went along to see her pop-up store in London’s Covent Garden. It was hard to choose between the classic skull bracelets and evil eye earrings and necklaces, but after spotting the tiny bug bracelet it was decided. There’s just one problem – I can’t wait until Christmas!
3. The British Fashion Awards
Fashion’s great and good were out in force at this year’s British Fashion Awards. Amongst the grandeur of the Coliseum, fashion royalty Miuccia Prada, Marc Jacobs and Donatella Versace mingled with the likes of Rita Ora, Alexa Chung and Gwyneth Paltrow. Model Kate Moss shared her table with Harry Styles (who didn’t stop getting asked for his photograph all night) and Sir Philip Green who gave Ms Moss a standing ovation when she collected her special recognition award acknowledging her 25-year long career. We ate British tapas - mini plates of fish and chips, lamb shank shepherds pie, game pate and lemon meringue pies - served by a personal butler assigned to each table. Glasses were kept topped up thanks to the ice-filled bar which was sunk into the middle of each table – the bubbles and Patron tequila were certainly flowing!
4. Getting Shirty
After such an event, you want to have a dress-down day – the kind when only trainers will do and a burger is a must for lunch- so the next day it was all about the shirt and boyfriend jeans (with a side of macaroni cheese). I managed to grab a couple of gems at the recent Dover Street Market, Market Cardboard City sale, including this Comme des Garcons polka dot broderie anglaise shirt. A classic with a twist, I’ll be wearing it until it’s threadbare.
