Over the weekend Dolce & Gabbana hosted an extravagant masked ball in Venice, recreating a historical ball of Venice of the Doges. While the 400 guests including Daisy Lowe, Rose McGowan and Karen Elson rocked up at Dolce & Gabbana's Ballo In Maschera in gondolas, Anna Dello Russo out did them all by turning up with a boat on her head. If anyone could wear a giant ship hat, it would be Anna Dello Russo.
Inside the extravagant palace the fash pack danced the polka and drank Bellinis at a recreation of Harry's Bar of Cipriani. The decor was even more dramatic than ADR's headgear, as it was dripping with chandeliers, grand tapestries and roses and calla lilies.
Domenico Dolce dressed as a harlequin in a black and white jester suit, while Stefano Gabbana played the matador in a gold and red bullfighter suit. Olé! Daisy Lowe wore blush Dolce lace, Audrey Tautou wore a black and nude lace gown with a giant satin bow and jewelled mask and Karen Elson wore a black embellished floral number with a dramatic rose headdress.
Paloma Faith may be drenched in Dolce gold and Giovanna Battaglia may be wearing multi-colour jester tights, but they are no match for Anna Dello Russo. With her gigantic wig, ruffled dress and gold sequin mask ADR was crowned the Queen of couture. Who else could out Marie Antoinette Marie Antoinette?
ADR has been Instagramming her way through the couture shows, including getting ready to hold court with Dolce & Gabbana at the Ballo In Maschera. We can see her lounging on the palace steps with Franca Sozzani, taking a #I'mwearingaboatonmyhead selfie and dancing with Domenico and Stefano.
