Harley in Jonathan Saunders dress £515 at Matches Fashion
The adorable and very down to earth Harley rolled up to Grazia's fashion week HQ at the Matches house at 23 Wellbeck St in London wearing a turquoise Jonathan Saunders dress and black Tabitha Simmons heels and proceeded to charm the printed trousers off us and our audience.
Harley came fresh from New York fashion week where; 'I went to Theysken's Theory and because there had just been a blizzard - there could have been a wardrobe nightmare but in the event, it stopped before I got there so I was OK.
'At New York Fashion Week I loved the Marc Jacobs collection, I love all those metallic pieces. I aslo noticed a lot of leather in all the collections - either leather garments or leather panels . . . it's awful watching the collections of lovely warm, leather clothes, when you yourself are wearing a Spring outfit, which is so often the case when you go to the shows. If I can I do like to wear an outfit by the designer who's show I'm watching, as it's a nice way to show support for the designer'.
Harley explained her rather enviable work for Dior as a makeup DJ - 'I work with the cosmetics people, to make a playlist for each makeup collection. It was a case of being in the right place at the right time to get that job - and it's a really fun gig.'
'I Love Carven Paris map prints'; CARVEN Paris-print cotton dress £400 from Matches Fashion
Her plans for the rest of LFW inlcude going to watch the House of Holland show, then Moschino, Mulberry and Westwood and Burberry, followed by Christopher Kane and hopefully JW Anderson too; 'It's going to be a busy week!' adding; 'then I'm DJing at an event called New York New York at the [swanky nightclub] Box.'
While some of us might find flying constantly to different time zones exhausting, Harley says; travelling is my favourite part of the job, it's definitly a perk to fly around the world. Next up after fashion week I'll be DJing in Mexico - its a really great atmosphere there, people love the music and they don't care about anything apart from dancing and having a good time.'
'Dolce & Gabbana dreses always work, they always really flattering and the ruffles always hit in just the right place.'
DOLCE & GABBANA Lily of the Valley print dress £1,380 Matches Fashion
On her wardrobe at Harley admits that; 'my flat is completely full, full, full of clothes. Storage can be a problem. It hasn't quite got to the stage where I have to store my sweaters in the oven but I'm not far off. I do own far too many clothes, a lot of them are vintage'
I don't particularly follow trends, but I am loyal to certain designers, Miu Miu, Carven and Dolce and Gabbana for the ideal dress . . . quite classic I suppose, I love the idea of being girly and ladylike. I love florals I love pastels, I love girly dresses and skirts. My favourite pieces that I return to again and again are always leopard print and polka dots - I love 'em!'
CHARLOTTE OLYMPIA, Kitty leopard flats £525 from Matches Fashion
'Tom Binns [jewellery designer] is another big obsession of mine. You can throw stuff on with even a jeans and a T shirt - and its always a show stopper and people always want to know all about it.'
And on the topic of her starry friends, and being signed to Jay Z's label, ROC Nation, Harley said modestly; 'working with Jay Z - it's amazing to be part of the ROC Nation family. I remember one party I got to DJ at, where Rihanna walked in and Beyonce in an amazing Elie Saab gown, she was so amazingly beautiful that I couldn't take my eyes off her when I was DJing.'
Wow. Can we have your life please?
