Grazia's Sophie Ferguson Jones, Catherine Nieto and Lily Russo modelling the tops
How do you like our fashion week T-shirts? They're only exclusive Black Score for House of Grazia made for us by top illustrator Simeon Farrar himself. Wel jel? Thought you might be. We spoke to Simeon today as he dropped off the tops and he told us the whole story. If you remember the pics of Brit supermodel Cara Delevigne with her 'Dior is Dope' splashed on, then you'll be familiar with his work already.
Simeon said, ‘When I did a giveaway in the courtyard of Somerset House last fashion week, [Grazia's contributing senior fashion editor] Andrew Holden gave them to all the Grazia girls to wear and me and Andrew, who really loved the tees, talked about doing something just for Grazia. Then with Catherine [Nieto] we decided to make a one off lot of T shirts. Not so much seasonal, but just for London Fashion Week. I’d already made these drawings of the models so we decided to go with them. It just felt right to do a range with all British models for London Fashion Week'.
Talking about one of the stars of the T-shirts, model Jourdan Dunn, he said, 'Jourdan has really supported us, like, really supported us, way more than she needed to, by bigging us up and always being photographed in our tops and in fact, she’s even wearing one of our tops in the drawing – Punk Not’s Dead, which is by us. So the fact that she's featured in one of our T-shirts, wearing one of our T shirts... that's quite mental, isn't it?'
He also has a good relationship with another of the T-shirt stars, a certain Cara Delevigne. 'Cara has also really supported us and put us on the map and, you know, she’s such a big deal in the modeling world just now. We love the fact that, as small as our brand is, she’s tweeting and instagramming in our T-shirts so we’ve decided to return the favour and put her on a T-shirt as Queen Delevigne. At least I hope she thinks it’s a favour – we haven’t asked her so I hope she’s pleased and doesn’t think it’s a liberty!'
UPDATE: We bumped into Miss Delevingne at the Rihanna for River Island show on Saturday night and what should we have to hand but the very tee with her face on it. 'Ooooh!' the model squealed when we showed it to her. 'Look Jourdan, this is the T-shirt I wanted!' she cried before striking a pose with it. Yes Simeon, it's safe to say Cara is not at all annoyed with you.
