Hello Cheekbones! The Winners Of The NEXT Models Selfie Competition Are Revealed

22 August 2013 by

Last month Instagram was flooded with even more selfies than usual (we didn't think that was possible either), as NEXT models launched a selfie competition. Today they have announced that the winners are the chiseled Rufus and Hannah. Err HELLO cheekbones - no filter can create that kind of bone structure. Both models in the making have perfected the smise (that's 'smile with your eyes' for those who don't watch Next Top Model) and campaign worthy pouts - these selfies could go straight into a New Face portfolio.

Over 5,000 people sent in their selfies, for the chance to be crowned the 'Next Face of Sundown’ and shoot the new marketing campaign promoting SUNDOWN 2014. The winners Hannah and Rufus have also bagged the chance to sign with one of the world’s biggest model agencies. Ross Young head of new faces at NEXT models said: 'Rufus and Hannah really caught our eye because of their amazing selfie’s. They have truly unique faces and the kind of good looks that you cannot fake with a filter, even on Instagram.' Hear hear!

Hannah, 18, says: 'I was so excited and shocked when I found out I had won, I couldn't believe it! My family and friends were all very excited for me as well which was lovely because I could share my excitement with other people. I feel very lucky.' Brighton based Rufus added: 'I was flicking through Instagram and just by chance stumbled upon the photo of how to enter the competition. Without thinking too much about it, I used the #NextFaceOfSundown hashtag on one of my photos, just to see if anything would happen. So it was pretty much just by chance that I entered.'

The tag #Selfie has been used on Instagram more than 34 million times and stars from Cara Delevingne to Miley Cyrus are guilty of taking a self portrait or ten. See some of our favourite celebrity selfies in the gallery below. It'll provide more than enough pouty inspiration...
