Kristen Stewart is known for swapping her stilettos for sneakers on the red carpet - getting busted doing a shoe swap might not be the best red carpet etiquette, but it has earnt her one big tick from Nike. Rumours are circulating the web this morning that K Stew has been offered a deal to promote Nike sneakers.
'The company obviously wants to broaden its base from athletes to actors, and, in particular, appeal to young women,' a source told Radar online. If true, this is one ad campaign which makes perfect sense. At the premiere for Snow White and the Hunstsman Kristen wore beat up Nike trainers under her black lace Marchesa gown. With an extra incentive to ditch the stilettos, we're sure Kristen will be totally comfortable wearing Nikes to all of her red carpet appearances from now on.
Kristen is already a spokesperson for the trainer, as she has said that all actresses should follow her move and wear flats on the red carpet. The actress told The Sunday Times Style magazine: 'I just so wholeheartedly disagree with people who don't like what I wear.' She also thinks that it is fans who miss out if actresses wear stilettos, as she said: 'more concerned about looking pretty in your heels, and so you're walking slowly down the line. Put a pair of sneakers on.'
