Happy Birthday Karl Lagerfeld! It should be a global holiday for the fashion industry but alas work has called us to our desks. But as the god father of the fashion industry starts another glamorous and glorious year, there is no better way to celebrate than mimicking the man himself and looking to Karl’s wardrobe for some inspiration.
But we will not be the first ones who have ‘Chanel-ed’ Karl. Earlier this year at couture fashion week, Kristen Stewart graced the front row in attire not too dissimilar to the man of the hour. Teaming her double breasted white tweed, crop sleeve jacket with barely there shorts, the real Karl-spiration came from K-Stew’s choice of cropped gloves. Of course the first lady of fierce well and truly pulled it off!

However donning the attire of a global icon can be a problematic pursuit, especially when you are an icon yourself. Roberto Cavalli side-lined the customary unbuttoned shirts and leather jackets back in Halloween 2007 in favour of a Karl-esque look. Of course Cavalli added the hint of sparkle and teamed his monochrome look with mahogany. The results are slightly dubious in comparison to K-Stew. But points for doing what Roberto Cavalli does best, going ALL OUT.
If you are considering painting the town monochrome tonight in C-C-elebration of K-DAY you will definitely need to have the following, check list at the ready…. some fashion-forward fingerless gloves, serious shades, a dashing of pearls, and of course everything must be BLACK, BLACK and BLACK! White is of course being your only natural alternative.
Check out our Karl ready choices below, and before you know it you will be C-C certified! And of course, the perfect destination for getting Karl cladded is of course his own label...
