David Bowie in his hey day [Rex]
He's Louis Vuitton's latest campaign star, the subject of V&A's fastest-selling exhibition AND winner of the 'best dressed Briton in history' award. Oh, and he's one of the most iconic musicians EVER. Yes, we're talking about the one and only David Bowie. And today he turns 67! Can you believe it?
Despite heading towards the grand age of 70, Mr Bowie's work - and in particular his eye-popping, mind-blowing stagewear and costumes - proved that the singer continues to inspire. We're still loving those patterned trousers, a Bowie wardrobe staple that he utilized right through his career from Ziggy Stardust through to Labyrinth, and let's not forget his unnaturally maroon mullet that's no doubt aided the trend for hair to be dyed in all shades of unnatural, from pastel pink through to deep red.

The V&A retrospective proved that he's still as relevant today - and as for the accolade of best dressed Briton, the British public crowned him as more iconic than the likes of Elizabeth I and Kate Moss. Pass us the ginger mullet and starburst makeup!
