Hailee Steinfeld Is MaxMara's 'Face Of The Future' 2013

21 February 2013 by

Hailee Steinfeld may only be 16 years old but she has already been nominated for an Oscar and a BAFTA, been the face of Miu Miu and landed the role as Juliet in the remake of Romeo and Juliet. Pretty impressive. But now she has been honoured with MaxMara's Face of the Future award 2012. She was announced as this year's winner last night and to celebrate this morning she hit the Front Row at the Max Mara show in Milano.

You may remember that last year the award went to then 15-year-old Chloe Moretz, who was at the time less than half the average age of the award's previous six recipients. Clearly they were impressed by the young fashionista, as have picked another stylish chadult for 2013. Moretz and Steinfeld have featured in several shoots together, including a cover of LOVE Magazine both dressed in Victorian-esque white lace.

So what exactly is the criteria for this award? It was launched in 2006 under the Women in Film Foundsation and has been given to Zoe Saldana, Elizabeth Banks, Ginnifer Goodwin, Emily Blunt and Maria Bello, so Hailee is joining an impressive list of former recipients.

The Women in Film award is given to 'an actress who is experiencing a turning point in her career through her work in the film and television industries and through her contributions to the community at large, in recognition of her outstanding achievements and her embodiment of style and grace'. Hailee will have to wait a little while until she receives her award, as it will be presented to her at the 2013 Crystal + Lucy Awards on June 12 in LA.

Hailee has an impressive back catalogue of fashion hits, sticking to labels like Marchesa, Stella McCartney, Calvin Klein and of course, Miu Miu (one of the many perks of landing a Miu Miu campaign). She's only 16 and has already had a controversial ad campaign, FROW-ed with Alexa and landed a high fashion shoot in Saint Laurent for V Magazine. Hails is certainly one of our girls to watch for 2013.
