An action movie about really fast cars doesn't immediately lend itself to the fashion world, but that hasn't stopped Guess from teaming up with Universal Pictures to create a collection inspired by the latest installment in the 'Fast & Furious' franchise. The 6th film in the long-running series arrives on the big screen next month and stars Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley's other half Jason Statham, Vin Diesel and Paul Walker. The range will be available in Guess stores from May 14 and features a selection of 15 pieces for men and women, which embody the motor racing theme from distressed denim to leather jackets in red and black.
As well as gritty prints and graphic tees, the collection also features men’s accessories including aviator sunglasses, an embellished cap and a watch. So weather you've got the wheels or not you can get in a spin and pretend you're the tough female lead of the flick 'Letty' played by actress Michelle Rodriguez. Guess isn't the first high street brand to take their cues from the cinema. To coincide with the release of the Hollywood adaptation of Stieg Larsson’s best-selling novel 'Girl With The Dragon Tattoo' in 2011, H&M teamed up with the film’s costume designer Trish Summerville to create a collection of hoodies, lace-up boots and leathers as seen on the film's heroine Lisbeth Salander played by Rooney Mara. Donatella Versace also admitted to being influenced by Tim Burton's 'Alice In Wonderland' when she produced her Spring Summer 2010 collection and Ralph Lauren took more than a little inspiration from cockney flower girl turned society lady Eliza Doolittle for Spring Summer 2008.
