Think you’ve got what it takes to be a top designer? There’s just one more sleep until Grazia launches its UK fashion search, FashFactor, but there’s still time for you to take part.
From shoe designers to jewellery designers, everyone is invited to pitch their designs to a judging panel which includes British designers Roland Mouret and Peter Jensen, Liberty’s Head of Fashion Buying & Merchandising Stephen Ayres and, of course, Grazia’s Editor-in-Chief Jane Bruton and Fashion Director Susannah Frankel.
Tomorrow morning at 9am budding designers are invited to come and queue outside our office and show their work. A shortlist of five will be invited back a week later for a special mentoring session with some of the judges and Grazia’s fashion team. The winner will get his/her designs photographed and featured in Grazia magazine, as well as have their work featured in a window at top London store Liberty.
If you want the chance to show the judges what Britain’s next big designer looks like, here’s your chance. We’re looking for entries in three womenswear categories – Clothing, Textiles and Prints & Accessories.
Make sure you get here early because judging will be on a first come first served basis. Judging starts at 9am sharp, continuing until 1pm. Each aspiring designer will be given a strict two minute slot to ‘speed pitch’, when they should briefly introduce themselves, their experience and qualifications, and the inspiration behind their work. They may present ONE outfit, ONE pair of shoes or ONE accessory. Designs much be worn by the designer or an accompanying model.
