Most brides are content with just the one hen-do, but Poppy Delevingne has now chalked up no less than four bachelorettes ahead of her wedding this May. The most recent was hosted by festi-fashion specialists Superdry at Coachella music festival, bringing the whole Brit crew to the Californian sunshine.

Hosted on the Colony 29 estate in Palm Springs, Poppy’s party, dubbed #popchella by her friends brought together family – sister Cara, mum Pandora and Poppy’s three aunts as well as friends Sienna Miller, Mary Charteris and Jamie Winstone. She even invited her fiancé along for the ride. As the queen of hen do’s we asked Poppy was were the key ingredients for a memorable bash? ‘For a hen-do you need a really good sense of humour, good beer, the bestest friends in the world and a really good game!’

As to why she decided on Coachella as the venue for her blow out, Poppy says the it was actually the backup plan, ‘My first choice was actually to something in Vegas – I kind of see Vegas as my spiritual home in a weird way. Then I sent out the email to all my girlfriends and I got very few replies.. becasue I think people were so terrified of the prospect, they thought they’d never make it back alive! Then I thought well I should do something on the West Coast and if you’re in the UK people never come to Coachella so I thought it was a good idea. Everyone loves music, don’t they?’

The tie in with Superdry was a natural fit as she explained, ‘I’ve been wearing Superdry for a really long time. It’s the best festival clothes – whether it’s a Glastonbury or at Glade if you need that perfect leather jacket or shorts or jeans they’ve got something perfect.’

The Superdry House was kitted out with a menagerie of inflatables in the pool, a huge deck where a DJ was installed to blast out the perfect party mix and buckets of Hoppy Poppy beers. Poppy herself sported a bespoke Superdry fringed leather jacket, emblazoned with her nickname Popdog across the shoulders. And with it being California, the food was deliciously healthy with avocado toast, seafood and kale salad keeping up everyone’s energy.

When it comes to festival essentials, Poppy keeps things simple. ‘Red lipstick, eye drops, bronzer, dry shampoo, a good bikini, jewellery, properly good sandals, really good biker boots, wet wipes. And make up remover – not that I ever use it, though I always bring it. I’m definitely still wearing make up from yesterday!’ she laughs.

Poppy’s Coachella playlist included Lana del Rey, Outkast and Bastile, but she admits that she is, ‘a bit of a dance hound when it comes to festivals so we basically went to the dance tent and stayed there.’ She also has plenty of dance floor moves, ‘there’s a lot of hands in the air - all my signature moves are very limby I forget that I’ve got really long weird legs – I like a lot of movement, I love a bit of a kick. If I could lie on the floor and spin around I would – anything quite dramatic appeals to me.’

So far Poppy says that 2014 has been the best year of her life, ‘Ive had a really good year – I’m still bashing on with the whole acting thing, hence why I spend a lot of time in LA right now. But at the end of the day modelling is kind of where my heart and soul is. It’s been my career since I was 16 and I love it.’ LA also has its attractions, ‘I love living here, I can work on my freckles in the sun, my bottom in soul cycle classes and drink juice every day. I mean there are so many pros – BUT I do miss English pubs with my friends. And grumpy taxi drivers. Otherwise its all good.’

As we left the party Mary Charteris was dancing on the tables while Sienna was jumping in the pool before the whole gang geared up for another trip on the Coachella party bus. #popchella might just be the most perfect hen-do of all time.
