Grace Coddington has reacted hilariously to her ban from Instagram. The creative director joined the ranks of Rihanna and 'Blurred Lines' model Emily Ratajkowski after she was banned from the site for posting a 'naked' picture as her first ever snap.

But while Ri-Ri's account got closed down because of a full-front snap of her boobs, Grace was penalised for a nude self portrait she'd drawn or her Paddle8 'No Clothes' auction. 'Self portrait. For more naked people, visit http://paddle8.com/auctions/noclothes before it ends May 16,' she wrote.

The image mysteriously reappeared back on Grace's account later in the week after the ban was lifted, with an Instagram spokesperson explaining that they 'occasionally make a mistake'.

'When our team processes reports from other members of the Instagram community, we occasionally make a mistake. In this case, we wrongly removed content and worked to rectify the error as soon as we were notified. We apologize for any convenience,' they said.

It seems Grace is in good spirits about the whole kerfuffle though. She reacted to the ban by posting a sketch of her fluffy cats Bart and Pumpkin on the site with censorship boxes infront of their.. err.. you know whats.

'Good grief Pumpkin, Mother drew a nude selfie for her very first Instagram,' posted Grace. 'No wonder they shut her down......she is much fatter than that.'

It's not just Grace making light of the whole affair. After her account was deleted fans took to Instagram to share their own pictures in petition.

'Grace Coddington's Instagram is no longer active because of her 1st post, the nude self portrait!!!!!!' posted Edward Enninful, fashion director of W magazine. 'Grace will be back soon with a new account xoxo Stay posted! #gracecoddington #legend.'
