Listen up folks, Erin O'Connor is the new face of Radley, the luxury leather company known for those classic handbags with the little Scottie dog. Earlier this summer we went to a North London studio to hang out on set with Erin and natter about handbags and London style. Oh and drool over the paint box totes, natch.
The campaign, shot by fashion photographer Emma Summerton and styled by Caroline Newell, is bold and colourful, as Erin wears a red trouser suit, a yellow floor-sweeper and a tangerine jumper. As you would expect from an Erin O'Connor campaign, it's all about strong silhouettes. As for the bags, the blue Malton, £189.00, and yellow Clayton, £179.00, have gone right to the top of our Autumn wishlist.
So why did the supermodel want to work with Radley? Erin explains 'We share an architectural synergy, I'm all about strong purposeful shapes, as are they. We don't compromise on the style that we want to promote. For me it's been a lovely opportunity to work hand in hand with a brand that celebrates strength and I suppose moving forward.'
So what does Erin look for in a bag? She revealed: 'My perfect bag would be practical but also have the stylish element to it, it would be bold and colourful. I would actually be able to open and close it. That would be a first.'
We also talked handbag disasters (yes this is a thing) as Erin recalled the time the entire contents of her bag exploded on the red carpet: 'I had one particular handbag disaster when I couldn't get into it, and when I finally did it flew over the red carpet and was caught by 200 lenses. Not a great moment.'
