There’s nothing we like more than new starlet rocking the red carpet. So imagine our delight to discover the young director Gia Coppola at Venice Film Festival this year. Niece to Sophia and granddaughter to Francis Ford, Coppola comes from a long line of silver screen auteurs. Promoting her debut title, Palo Alto, Gia has made several stops on the Venice red carpet. Starring James Franco and Emma Roberts, the film is one of the most hyped of the competition, and after a string of positive reviews, Gia’s star looks sure to be on the rise.

So why are we so excited about Gia’s personal style? Firstly she has impeccable taste when it comes to choosing the designers she likes to promote on the tapis rouge. With Christopher Kane, Proenza Schouler and Saint Laurent all on her shopping list, you can tell that Gia is a woman with proper fashion chops.

Secondly Gia has immediately established herself as woman who steps away from the bland conformity of many a safe red carpet stalwart. Going for a buttoned up tux, and a velvet dress, over her Venice appearances Gia has proven that’s she not afraid to take fashion risks.

And looking through our archives we've spotted Gia looking tip top on several previous occasions, proving that her style credentials aren't newly won. And did we mention how much we love her hair - reminiscent of Alexa's but with more of a grown up feel - we call it the perfect grown-out bob. So three cheers to our new style crush Gia - good luck for the Venice Film Festival and bagging that Golden Lion!
