Lady Gaga goes back to black in Saint Laurent by Hedi Slimane
We’ve seen a lot of The Lady in the wake of her new release ArtPop and by A LOT we mean she’s managed to flash plenty of flesh via a fairly constant stream of butt-naked opportunities. When clothed, Lady Gaga has afforded her fans a typically unpredictable array of face-paint, wide-brim hats, wigs and daring outfits.
After defending Hedi Slimane’s controversial snubs of endless fashion journos when he took the helm of Saint Laurent last year, Gaga has further extended her loyalty, sporting his designs on four occasions last week. She was also the first to wear his S/S 13 collection back in October, just days after the show.
For this avant garde envelope-pusher – who would rather lose her voice than repeat wear – the fact that she's returned time after time to the designer is quite a statement. She's even adopted some wearable and, dare we say it, elegant pieces.
- Ignore the Marilyn Manson hair and face-paint and let’s look at that feathery light leather and silk georgette pleated skirt. The crepe de chine blouse and tuxedo jacket are a sophisticated look for a star who has spent days starving in the woods for performance prep with artist Marina Abramovic.
- Perhaps the least wearable look (for a human of average confidence) but still extremely glamorous – this encrusted bodysuit is perfectly outrageous for Gaga but sleek teamed with glossy black accessories and silk lingerie. Remember when Mossy wore the same tights and exposed her bottom? To think that critics considered that TMI!
- This Pre-Fall 2013 look is a simple rocky leather dress. The clean bare face, long dark hair and lace-up boots are a look we can get on board with – this super star outfit wouldn’t look alien on a Kardashian but Gaga is effusing it with a luxurious glamour.
