Flashback Friday: In Celebration Of Lady Gaga's Comeback At The MTV VMA Awards

Oh Gaga, Gaga... whatever will you do next? The interwebs have felt slightly tame as of late, defunct of a certain popstress and her most interesting of fashion choices. But Mother Monster, as she likes to call herself, has recently announced she'll be making a come back (if you can even call it that) following her hip operation at next month's MTV VMA's, where she's set to perform the first single from her fourth studio album ARTPOP for the first time ever. Exciting!

In the spirit of all things Gaga, we've compiled some of her outfits from past MTV award shows to mark her return to what will undoubtedy be some more of the omg-did-you-see-what-she-was-wearing territory. Oh Gaga, how we do admire your gall. The first mention HAS TO go to that meat dress. Some bottom teeth definitely broke when jaws dropped all the way down to the floor at the 2010 VMA's upon spotting the raw beef number, which even came complete with matching meat boots, fascinator and bag, as well as fishnet tights and obvs, some diamonds. Oh how the world erupted, most of all those vegetarians. We can't even begin to imagine what must have been going through their heads! Yikes!

How was she going to follow that one up we wonder? Not a problem for Gaga; at the 2011 MTV VMA's the 'Born This Way' singer arrived as a man. Yeah, a man. The man in question was, in fact, her own alter ego; Jo Calderone who carried the persona into her performance, wearing a dirty white shirt with black pants and slicked back hair.

Oh and let's not forget her condom-inspired number... or the egg debacle. But it's not all cross-dressing and raw meat, Gaga's taken home a cray cray 13 Moonmen since 2009, including “Best New Artist,” and “Video of the Year” for “Bad Romance” as well as “Best Video with a Message” for “Born This Way.” One thing's for sure... we can barely contain our excitement for what she's about to do next. Welcome back Gagaloo.
