First Look At The Trailer For Carine Roitfeld's Documentary 'Mademoiselle C'

10 August 2013 by

Come September, when every editor in the land is shuffling from show to show and designers spend sleepless nights preparing the finishing touches to their Spring Summer 2014 collections, another fashion butterfly has her own project to unveil. Carine Roitfeld, who after ten years at the helm of Vogue Paris resigned her editorship in January 2011, is the star of her very own documentary entitled Mademoiselle C.

What we've gleaned from the trailer so far is that it's all about her, naturally. As well as anecdotes from colleagues and gushing compliments from collaborators, the documentary charts the progress of her bi-annual magazine CR Fashion Book. From the designers she's nurtured and worked with (Tom Ford, Karl Lagerfeld, Alexander Wang, Riccardo Tisci) to the models she's discovered and featured (Kate Upton, Lara Stone, Linda Evangelista) and the Hollywood elite who've found their way into her little black book (Sarah Jessica Parker, Kirsten Dunst), it's a who's who of anyone who's anyone in the fashion industry.

Carine talks openly about her creative process and we're sure her partner Christian was delighted when she said, 'I've a very calm life: after 30 years I'm still with the same man. So, my fantasy went into my photos.' And fantastical they are. We even get a glimpse of a shoot with her heavily pregnant daughter, Julia Restoin Roitfeld, who made Carine the world's chicest grandmother when she gave birth to a baby girl, Romy, last May. Something which, much to our amusement, Donatella Versace finds completely and utterly baffling.

Of course, we can't help but draw comparisons to The September Issue which finally shone the limelight on Anna Wintour's right-hand woman Grace Coddington. But one thing we do know is that Mademoiselle C is likely to be equally, if not even more compelling viewing.

And if that hasn't quite satiated your appetite for all things Carine, why not take a look at her top ten street style moments below...
