Sad news has arrived this Saturday: Louise Wilson, OBE, has died. Wilson, aged 52, was the director of the MA Fashion course at Central Saint Martins where she was well known for her direct and truthful feedback. She was awarded an OBE for her services to the arts after mentoring some of the country's most talented designers including the late Alexander McQueen and Christopher Kane. Her former students also include Jonathan Saunders, Marios Schwab, Peter Jensen, Richard Nicoll, Christopher Shannon and Sophia Kokosalaki. It's little wonder she became known as the UK's most influential educator.

Louise was reported to have died in her sleep while visiting her sister in Scotland this weekend. She is survived by partner, Timi, and one son. Today, the fashion world has taken to Twitter to pay tribute to the academic, from Cathy Horyn to Hilary Alexander...
