Here at Grazia Towers the Carrie we know and love has a weakness for Manolos, rather than a face pouring with blood. We'll take a cosmo over a slasher any day. Halloween is the perfect excuse to get your fash on and channel the greatest characters in the industry. This year Dermot O'Leary went as Karl Lagerfeld and his wife dressed up as Choupette, while Bryan Boy wore check Marni and a sleek blonde bob to transform into Anna Wintour. Can you say MAJ-OR? In protest to all the fake blood and creepy contacts, we have rounded up some of the best fash-overs in Halloween history...
This will go down as the year that celebville went twerk and tweeting, with more Miley Cyrus costumes than cat ears. But Karl Lagerfeld is also a popular choice, as Dermot O'Leary wore a white wig and leather gloves while his wife dressed as Choupette. But our favourite Karl Lagerfeld ever has to be little Alaia Rose who a mini leather jacket, white ponytail and Raybans.
Nope this isn't Anna taking a selfie in her greige office with a Starbucks in hand, it's actually Bryan Boy. Good, huh? The blogger wore a chic Wintour wig and black out shades, with a jewel encrusted cashmere knit, a floral pleated skirt and a check Marni coat. He, sorry she, then went for a meal with Shelby and took to the streets to witness the fashion carnage.
Or go all out and dress as a Chanel 2.55
As if carrying a Chanel 2.55 wasn't fabulous enough, some have been WEARING their quilted leather. We reported last year that mini Chanel bags was a hot Halloween trend after Natalie wore a metallic Chanel purse on Craft and Couture, but this year the iconic costume is just as sought after.
A fashion blogger
Before Anna Wintour there was Tavi. Bryan Boy put on a grey bowl-cut wig and funky red frames and drowned in layers of knit to dress up as fashion blogger Tavi. If you're looking for a last minute costume this weekend, stick your hair in a top knot and grab an SLR and there you have it. You are a couple hundred Twitter followers away from dominating the internet.
We literally died when Rachel Zoe posted this picture on Instagram of her friend jacking her style. He wore her signature black maxi, fur gilet and black fedora, with stacked bangles and a thick blonde wig. In the words of Rachel: "I die."
Fresh off the runway
We told you that some of the runway makeup looks are pretty spooky, and Leandra Medine from The Man Repeller did a high fashion joker copying the ashen faces, smudged red lips, grey eyes and wild ash hair shown at Thom Browne. She didn't go trick or treating with this look or even carve a pumpkin, nope she cleaned some New York windows. Now that's scary!
With her quote-able mantras and ability to mix plaid, Cher Horowitz is every 90s tween's ultimate girl crush. So who better to dress up as than the Beverly Hills? If you do a Cher, remember to request Rollin with the Homies and use the word sporadically at least once. So totally buggin'!
