Kim Kardashian's marvellous Givenchy dress [e! online]
Just as Princess K-Middy inspired a glut of bridal gowns in the wake of her nuptials to Prince William (she's arguably had her influence on another rather A-List wedding, ahem, pictured above), we can expect another wave of dresses inspired by Kim Kardashian's sheer-backed, cutout Givenchy gown. This white lace confection was by no means a simple garment, so if you don't plan to copy KK's look down to the last thread (and believe us, some people will), there are many featurettes that a Bride-to-be can reference whilst retaining some individuality.
Kim's gown was semi backless: the lower back was cut-out with a deep scoop, whilst sheer lace snaked across her shoulders and lace panels framed her waist. If you're not willing to choose all three dramatic features, a backless gown is timeless but deeply glamorous and a little frilled edging will go a long way to flatter your figure. We love these three from Browns Bride:
Choose Lace Sleeves
From the front Kim's dress displayed exquisite lace sleeves - they were rather akin to Ms Middleton's which hugely inspired gowns at Bridal Fashion Week Spring 2015 in New York last month. Either opt for a touch of antique elegance with a slim-fit sleeve or choose a dress with a sheer lace overlay to add ethereal shimmer - these three beauties will do the job perfectly:

Fancy a Fish Tail?
A mermaid tail skirt was a no-brainer for the curvelicious Kimmy. Nipping in at the waist and flaring out again at the knee, the hourglass shape of this gown helps accentuate that fabulous behind of hers whilst adding a statuesque silhouette. Depending on your body type and tastes, there are plenty of top options to go with this skirt shape but it's a great figure-flatterer to bear in mind:
Opt For a Sheer Back
Kim's 'semi-backless-ness' is an example of the classic, savvy dressing we were expecting from the bride. Kim combines demure coverage (high-neck) with a sexy flash of skin (cutout waist), which is simultaneously revealing whilst it leaves a lot to the imagination. Detailing and lace panelling draw the eye in and out, enhancing the silhouette and flattering the figure. If you daren't go the whole-backless-hog, a dress with a sheer back is seductive and illusory, but very elegant indeed.
And if you're coveting Kim's unprecedented off-key waist strap, let's see what next year's bridal catwalks bring...
