Exclusive! We Chat To Jourdan Dunn And Rosie Tapner on Selfridges Denim Lovers Shoot

Last night Selfridges staged an explosive denim takeover, as they shot the first ever co-created fashion campaign starring Jourdan Dunn and Rosie Tapner. Basically an ad campaign shoot was turned into a pop-up gig, as a couple hundred people were invited to party in the old Selfridges Hotel, as long as they brought along a camera phone. After making our way through pre-game snacks - mac n' cheese, peanut butter milkshakes and hot dogs which were handed to us by male models in denim overalls - the crowd assembled around the make shift studio ready to become fashion photogs.

Jourdan and Rosie werked it to Get Lucky, then whipped phones out of their pockets to take their own #denimstudio selfies.  All of the images will then be compiled to create the denim lovers campaign for Selfridges' new humongous Denim Studio. This is the first EVER collaborative fashion campaign and was the brain child of photographer Tom Craig who directed the snap happy crowd last night. How cool is THAT? It all went to plan as Twitter exploded with denim-tastic shots of the Storm supers.

We went to the shoot earlier in the day, to catch up with Jourdan and Rosie and talk about jeans, designing denim and Twitter obsessions. Find out what we chatted to the girls about below...

Jourdan is set to launch her own fashion line...

' I am in talks right now brainstorming ideas for a denim line. I have wanted to do that for the longest time ever - to make the perfect jeans for every shape and size. If you’re tall and skinny and don’t have much of an arse, or what to do to make you look like you have an arse when you don’t have one. Or if you have big hips but don’t want to emphasise that you have big hips. Also I want to do a kids line becaue I feel like in kids stores there is a big selection for girls and the boys section is so small. I would love to do a special boys collection for mini fashionistas. It could happen this year or next year.

Jourdan owns over 50 pairs of jeans...

Jourdan revealed: 'I have over 50 pairs. In New York I have a walk in wardrobe which I have always wanted. On the left hand side there are three shelves FULL of jeans. It’s ridiculous. I get free stuff so it fills up quickly.' Rosie only has five or six pairs, but she said she will be splurging in the Denim Studio.

Jourdan's favourite jeans are...

'I love skinnies! I’m forever in black skinny jeans. Now I’m loving the boyfriend jeans and the cropped jeans, but I hate bootcuts as they are the worst jeans when you're tall. I love flares! When I went upstairs into the denim studio and saw Karlie’s ones I was like FINALLY! The normally flares come up like ankle swingers but with these I can wear heels and the jeans still sweep the floor. Favourite brands are J brand as they are so on point with cut and their styles. I saw they have the J Brand special little black jean – they look perfect. Paige is also good and there are some electric blue Hudson jeans upstairs which look so sick.

Jourdan's son is a model in the making...

'He demands pictures, he’s like mummy it's picture time now. If he likes his outfit that day he is like take a picture and does these weird poses. It’s too much! Kinda scary.'

 Jourdan has a Twitter obsession...

'When I first started I was very much Twitter obsessed and used to scare my agency with my tweets as I would just tweet what was on my mind. But now I’ve censored it down – I don’t cuss as much! I wake up in my bed I check Twitter, then check Instagram, then check Twitter, then check Instagram again.'

Rosie wants to be a photographer after finishing with school...

Rosie: 'I will definitely carry on with modelling – I love it to bits. I don’t know if that’s because I have the school life, home life and normality so I don’t have to think about it too much. But I’d also like to become a photographer. I want to be a portrait photographer or a landscape photographer, but I love learning from fashion photographers – each has different techniques so I love learning all that. So I’m on work experience every shoot!'

Grazia is one of Jourdan's favourite Instagram feeds...

'I feel like my followers are funny and post real stuff. I like Browns, Net A Porter and Grazia Daily actually. I mainly follow normal people.' N'aww thanks Jourds, right back at ya.'

Rosie on learning from Jourdan...

'I love working with her, she is just good fun. There is never any pressure so we bounce off each other. I learn a lot from her, obviously she has been modelling for much longer than I have so coming into it and being able to learn from Jourdan is amazing.'

Finally ... Cara give Jourdan her top back!

When we asked if she shared clothes with her model pals Jourdan said: 'Cara has this top of mine she wore once – an oversized Cavalli top with a wolf on it and it’s really cool. She’s had it since Victoria’s Secret and I keep saying ‘I kinda want it back now.’ I feel like I’m not going to see that again.'
