Alex Merrell for THE OUTNET
Always wanted to join the body-con tribe? Well listen up as we have been given a heads up by the lovely ladies at THE OUTNET that a limited edition Hervé Léger collection is landing tomorrow. Yep in less than 24 hours you can get your hands on an iconic flattering body-con dress, as well as fit-and-flare skirts. THE OUTNET chose model and actress Annabelle Dexter-Jones and international DJ Alex Merrell to front the campaign and model their own favourite pieces from the edit. To celebrate the arrival of Hervé Léger, we spoke to Annabelle about her own style and how she wears her Hervé...
Grazia Daily: How would you describe your style?
Annabelle Dexter-Jones: It’s important for me to be comfortable. I’m often in flats, although I do like to get dresses up sometimes. I really like classic pieces, I love classic American style. And you know, you mix it in with a little French, something from Paris and something from London. Sometimes I dress like a boy. I love just wearing pants and a nice shirt. I think I do that because I’ve always been jealous of boys because it’s so easy for them to get dressed. So I was like, rather than being jealous of boys, why don’t I just dress like them so I don’t have to worry about it.
Grazia Daily: So what do you do if you’re wearing a skirt or a dress?
Annabelle Dexter-Jones: Don’t get me wrong, I love dresses, and I wear dresses all the time. I’m just saying like if I don’t want to think, I’ll just dress like a boy. But you know, I love feeling like a lady and I wear like a lot of vintage 50s and 60s dresses, that’s like my favourite kind of look.

Grazia Daily: What kind of tips would you give to girls who want to wear a Herve dress during the day?
Annabelle Dexter-Jones: My first instinct was because it was daytime when I saw the dresses, was to grab those flats. It’s almost too obvious to throw it on with a great pair of heels. I think the dress speaks for itself, it’s sexy enough that you can just put on a pair of loafers with it.
Grazia Daily: A lot of girls are obviously very body conscious, especially when in a Herve dress. What kind of tips would you give to girls about confidence and wearing something like that?
Annabelle Dexter-Jones: What I like about it is, I don’t think there’s one body type that’s better than the rest. As I said, I’m petite. I like to wear things that give me a figure. I think the great thing about Herve is that while it shows your figure, it’s always flattering. I think that it’s a great dress because you don’t have to worry about that. There’s something about the material that keeps everything together. That’s why it’s so perfect.
Grazia Daily: It kind of makes you feel like you’re the perfect version of you.
Annabelle Dexter Jones: Exactly. Sometimes my style gets really girly, so I’m always trying to branch out and wear something sexy. I really feel like a woman in those dresses.

Grazia Daily: Confidence is key when it comes to a Herve dress. In what other ways does it make you feel confident?
Annabelle Dexter Jones: In terms of being sexy and confident, I don’t think it has anything to do with what you’re wearing. There are dresses that are sexier than others and take your brain to a certain place, but you know I really think that you can throw on a pair of pants and a t-shirt and look extremely sexy. It’s really about the way that you conduct yourself. It’s about confidence and being comfortable.
Grazia Daily: How long have you been a Herve girl?
Annabelle Dexter Jones: I think when I was 17 or 18, I had one. I think that was my only one, actually. But I cherished it.
Grazia Daily: Do you remember what it was like?
Annabelle Dexter Jones: It was blue and black stripes, really short, and I felt so grown up when I wore it. I remember I had been asking my mom for it, and she was hesitant because she thought it was too sexy. But eventually she gave in, she trusted me.
