Last night Erin O'Connor did a Beyonce. No no, she didn't hit the red carpet in a caged thong or dance up on a chair. Rather than send out a twitpic or statement, the model used the red carpet at the Instyle Bafta Party to announce to the world that she is pregnant with her first child.

So what did the 35-year-old choose to wear for the grand bump reveal? The model opted for a body-skimming black crepe crystal encrusted gown from Jenny Packham's Spring Summer 2013 collection, with capped sleeves and a high neckline. She kept the rest super simple with her hair slicked back and elegant gold bangles.

Back in 2011 Beyoncé announced that she was pregnant at the VMAs when she hit the red carpet in an orange one shoulder Lanvin gown with her hands placed around the bump, just in case the paps missed it. She then performed 'Love On Top' in a sequined tuxedo jacket which she whipped off at the end to give us an eye full of the bump.

Erin hasn't publicly named her partner, but she said to You Magazine last year: '[He is] funny and interesting and wears a suit every day to work, which seems so exotic and outlandish to me that ironically it makes him my equivalent of wild rock'n'roll.' As for motherhood, she said: 'He's also easy to love and I hope we'll have a baby - lots of them, if we're lucky - together. It's a nice feeling to have found The One at long last. We have half a dozen godchildren between us, so I like to think we have some idea of what's required for parenthood.'

Family is incredibly important to Erin as when we spoke to her earlier this year she revealed she is closest to her family, as she said: 'You’re connected by blood, so there’s no editing involved. I’m in New York and they’re in England, so we’ve got a whole ocean between us, but it doesn’t matter. There’s always Skype.'
