In this week's issue of Grazia, we bring you details of our meet up with Douglas 'swoonsome' Booth. In a hotel room. Just the two of us. We were there to discuss his latest role as Shakespeare's Romeo in Julian ‘Downton Abbey’ Fellowes’ adaptation of Romeo and Juliet. ‘We had an amazing time filming,’ the actor told us. ‘Playing Romeo was a huge challenge and it was daunting to take on something so iconic.’
Douglas, 21, plays Romeo alongside True Grit’s Hailee Steinfeld, 16. ‘I wanted to make Romeo a little less poncy. He’s a teenage boy, so I wanted him fighting and horse riding! Working with Hailee was great fun. She’s so mature. She’s going to be a big star.’ The first time they met was not on set but at the Met Ball in 2011.
‘I saw her across the ballroom. It was like life imitating art,' Douglas said of the moment he first saw the actress. '[The Met Ball] is the most insane thing you can ever go to. You’re like, “Oh, there’s Beyonce and Jay-Z,” and “Oh look, there’s the Fannings with Gwyneth Paltrow."’

Douglas attended with his fellow Burberry campaign star, Cara Delevingne, but it was 'before she became so big. It was the first time she’d done a big red carpet. She was really nervous and almost shaking. Now she takes it in her stride!' Indeed she does. The actor goes on to say, 'She’s mad, mad from the first moment I met her, but good fun.’
