Designer Zoë Jordan On Opening London Fashion Week: EXCLUSIVE

Amazing London designer Zoë Jordan has been gaining prowess over her last few seasons showing at fashion week, and has now been given the pretty exciting accolade of opening London Fashion Week. Yes, her show is first on the schedule when the action kicks off tomorrow morning. Grazia Daily exclusively spoke to Zoë on how she’s feeling about presenting the first collection that meet the eyes of the world’s fashion press and buyers for Autumn Winter 2013.

‘I can’t believe that tomorrow I’ll be opening London Fashion,' she told us. 'It’s like being a child on Christmas eve, when you’re really excited but also having nightmares! Everything is going well in the studio, but it’s all go.’

On her expectations of the front row she said; ‘We have some great names coming down to the show, but I still keep picturing an empty catwalk! Its’ s such an honour as a British designer opening London Fashion Week, I think it’s my best collection and I hope it’s well received.’

And what can we expect from the much-anticipated collection? ‘My Autumn Winter 2013 collection is inspired by Italian renaissance architecture, specifically the Duomo in Florence,’ said Zoë. ‘Juxtaposed with this opulence, I have also been looking at stark minimalist monochrome interiors. I studied architecture so it has always been a strong influence in my work. I design for real women who have a feminine glamour and a boyish insouciance’.

Wow. We’ve long been admirers of  Zoë’s natty prints, cool metallics and sleek tailored looks, and can’t wait for tomorrow morning to break the seal on another London Fashion Week.

All over London fashionistas have been planning their outfits and polishing their shoes ahead of the five-day feast of fashion that kicks off tomorrow, none more so than designer Zoë, who summed up the anticipation thus; ‘opening London Fashion Week this season is totally thrilling and equally terrifying...I feel incredibly honoured to have been given the opportunity and the responsibility to be launching LFW this season! It's a fantastic window of exposure for the brand, so let's hope our hard work shines through and the collection is well received by all!’.

We can’t wait either!
