Cool Coachella dudes DJ Myles Hendrick and Fabrizio Moretti of The Strokes
We’ve been so wrapped up in celebrity denim hot-pants and broderie anglaise that we totally and utterly forgot that boys were even invited to Coachella, let alone that they should consider their festi-looks as much as the next girl in line.
On closer inspection (and now that we’ve awarded ourselves a well-earned rest from Rita Ora’s addictively good instagramming) we’ve noticed a distinct crowd of style-aware lads and they’re displaying their sartorial swagger both on and off the stage. And there are three specific ways this is a-happening…
In the same way that girls can easily follow the boho code, it’s simples for guys to go down the indie rocker route. It is, after all, the first important leg of the annual festival pilgrimage for hipsters across the globe.
Indie = the easy Coachella dress code for boys. Even K-Bo's Michael Polish relies on this one
But we appreciate a dude with a difference – some took a Sunday Best approach to their Coachella ensembles, like the street-snapped chap who made a strong tailoring statement with a grey capri-pant suit styled sans-top and with some beach-ready Toms.
THE FESTIVAL SARTORIALISTS:
The tailoring crew brought some top notch tailoring to the usually casual Coachella
For others who didn’t fall into the standard vintage tee/skinny jeans/obligatory scruffy ‘do, the name of the desert game was FUN: Take Jeremy Scott’s pop-tastic pool-side ensembles, Nick Grimshaw’s floral shirts, the many novelty sunnies, outfit-topping hats or bright sneakers we spotted here, there and everywhere.
THE FUN BRIGADE:
BOOM! Loudly dressed lads on tour!
Many of the best dressed ladies on our list enjoyed Coachella with their boyfriends in tow, and strangely enough, the men in question kept their fashion looks pretty low key. Well, Diane Kruger couldn’t possibly be out-fashioned by Joshua Jackson, no matter how cute he is. Here's a gratuitous shot of the swoon-enducing pair:
