Last night Diane von Furstenberg and Nadja Swarovski announced the nominees for this year's prestigious CDFA Awards, which are due to take place on June 3rd. Among the designers in with a chance of scooping a gong are Marc Jacobs, Alexander Wang and Proenza Schouler’s Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez who are nominated for Womenswear Designer of the Year and Phillip Lim who is up against Wang, McCollough and Hernandez in the Accessory Designer of the Year category. Confirmed winners include Oscar de la Renta, who will receive the Founder Award, and Givenchy’s Riccardo Tisci, who has been named the recipient of the International Award.

Judge Nadja Swarovski revealed, “Each of this year’s nominees is an inspiring industry leader who has played a powerful role in making American fashion what it is today. Meanwhile, spearheading a new generation of American talent are the nominees for the Swarovski Awards. We hope their vision and exceptional creativity will make them leaders of the industry in years to come.”

While this year's nominees include a who's who of American design talent we've got our fingers crossed that the US fashionistas will pull out all the stops at this year's ceremony. Last year's event saw Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen take to the stage to pick up the Womenswear Designer of the Year (beating off competition from this year's nominees Marc Jacobs and Proenza Schouler) for their label The Row. There were also appearances by Kate Bosworth in Altuzarra, Dakota Fanning in Proenza Schouler, a bevvy of Victoria's Secret models and Saturday Night Live comedian Seth Meyers who parodied Marc Jacobs' lace Met Ball ensemble much to the fashion pack's delight.

With the Olsens out of the equation this year it’s time to get your prediction in for who might be the big winner on the night.
