Just when you thought Cara Delevingne's quest for world domination was over, she's only gone and designed her own fashion collection for DKNY.
That's right, the model turned actress has created a 15 piece unisex line for the US brand featuring tank tops, leather bombers and a parka, as well as a sweat suit which she describes as 'My dream pantsuit, because you can boy it up, split it up or suit it up'. Set to launch in November, prices will ranges from £44 for a beanie to £437.26 for a leather motorcycle jacket with removable sleeves.
[Cara has her own unique style]
'I can’t believe that some random, rough ideas have finally turned into my own collection… designs with my own name on them and in collaboration with the iconic DKNY brand,' says Cara. 'It is so wild to realize that it has been an entire year since we began planning this project together…goes to show that time does fly when you’re having fun.'
Not only will fans be able to purchase Cara's designs, the model's also offering fans the chance to star in the campaign. She's launched a model search on Instagram asking followers (aged older than 18) to upload a photo of themselves with the hashtags #CaraWantsYou and #Cara4DKNY to the site by Monday to bag one of the two or three spots in the shoot.
Cara's been working with DKNY for two years now starring in campaigns for their Spring Summer 2013, Autumn Winter 2013 and Spring Summer 2014 collections. Her most recent promo video for the brand showed her playing American football alongside bezzie Jourdan Dunn, Brit beauty Eliza Cummings and rapper A$AP Rocky.
'DKNY is urban and edgy but, most of all, it’s individual,' says Cara. 'They truly embrace the weirdness in all of us, so you can really be yourself.'
The collection's not Cara's first foray into designing, she recently teamed up with Mulberry to develop her own Cara Delevingne three-in-one style bags - coming in camo and studded designs and various sizes. There is also a limited edition bag inspired by Cara's lion finger tattoo, with gold lion rivets which were created at Mulberry's Somerset atelier.
'I want there to be hidden gems inside, based on things that are personal to me, which my tattoos definitely are,' she said at the time.
Here's some ideas for what we can expect…
Cara shook things up at Mulberry, introducing a Camo print bag. Plus DKNY's known for its urban edge. We're looking forward to monochrome unisex pieces, camo prints and studs.
2. Slogans and beanies
Cara's wardrobe is jam-packed with oversized beanies in a rainbow of colours. And we all know she's a fan of *literally* saying things on her chest.
3. Multipurpose wear
There's a motorcycle jacket with removable sleeves and a sweat suit that Cara loves because you can 'boy it up, split it up or suit it up'.
4. Personal touches
Cara's Mulberry bags feature details inspired by Cara's tattoos - gold lion rivets and 'Made In England' stamps. 'I want there to be hidden gems inside, based on things that are personal to me, which my tattoos definitely are,' she said at the time.
5. A cameo from Cecil the rabbit?
Cara's BFF right now is obvs her bunny Cecil who even has his own Instagram. Could there be a bunny print somewhere in the collection?
