Shut the front door! Cara Delevingne is in talks for two roles ATM, the first flick entitled Tulip Fever will be produced by The Weinstein Company and the second is a dark take on the Peter Pan story, Pan. Prepare for sword fights, fairy dust and barely-there costumes people!
Just like in her big screen debut as Princess Sorokina in Anna Karenina opposite Keira Knightley, Tulip Fever will see the model adopting some serious period costume in a seventeen century tale. Perhaps Harvey Weinstein can do for Cara what he did for Jennifer Lawrence with Silver Linings Playbook. Cara Delevingne: international model and Oscar winner has quite the ring to it! We can imagine the acceptance speech already, ‘I would like to thank Michelle, the academy, Poppy…’ It’s just too much to cope with!

Pan on the other hand will see Cara acting alongside some serious Hollywood heavy weights. Just this week the film added Amanda Seyfried to its cast who play the lead role, Mary alongside Hugh Jackman as Blackbeard, the hunky Garrett Hedlund as Hook and Rooney Mara as Tiger Lily. Talk about major casting! Filming is due to start next week, so hopefully it won’t be too long to we see snaps of Cara in action under the command of Atonement director, Joe Wright, sprinkling fairy dust in the sassiest manner ever imaginable. Joe must have been pretty impressed with Cara's acting efforts when he directed her in Anna Karenina to have cast her in another of his films. The role is appaz small but we can tell already it will be the highlight of the movie.
Cara has made no secret of her acting career on instagram, uploading this snap from Kids In Love (@caradelevingne)
If all this talk of Cara acting is getting you excited and you can’t quite wait an absolute age to see her undertake these roles well luckily for you Miss Delevingne will be hitting the big screen soon! The former British Fashion Awards Model of the Year will be appearing in Kids In Love opposite the BAFTA rising star winner, Will Poulter. Dairies at the ready people as that flick due for release on 25th September this year. If that wasn’t enough Cara will also be appearing in London Fields with Johnny Depp and his new Mrs, Amber Heard and the aptly named Face of an Angel which is also due for release later this year.
Let’s just hope that even though Cara has stated that acting was always the bigger plan and with her acting career now in ascendance, she doesn’t fully turn her back on modelling. London Fashion Week wouldn’t be the same without her signature catwalk stomp.
