Three cheers to Lady Amanda Harlech. The fashion maven has just scooped the Isabella Blow Award for Fashion Creator at the British Fashion Awards, presented to her by fellow Chanel muse Stella Tennant. Lady Amanda, drenched in sequins, kept her speech short and sweet, thanking Isabella Blow.
The honour comes in recognition of her creative inspiration and influence in the fashion industry during her career spanning three decades. Lady Harlech has had an unprecedented impact in defining the mood of global fashion. As a creative consultant and writer, she's worked alongside creative visionaries including John Galliano and Karl Lagerfeld.
Her work with Galliano began during his years as an independent couturier and when the designer joined Dior in 1996, Amanda joined Monsieur Lagerfeld at Chanel. Not only that, but she works as a consultant at Fendi. During Paris Fashion Week, you'll find her at the Ritz Hotel (daahling), which is her base during the city’s fashion shows.

Let's not forget LAH also has inimitable style. She appeared on the International Best Dressed List Hall of Fame in 1997 and with a wardrobe packed with Chanel and Dior couture, it's little wonder. Amanda's daughter, Tallulah, has also taken the fashion world by storm and has been snapped up by King Karl to star in many of his mini-movies. In fact, you may remember mother and daughter joined forces for the designer's films The Tale of a Fairy and Once Upon A Time, which starred Keira Knightley as Coco Chanel.
Harlech has also collaborated on two books - Palazzo and Sicily - and has expressed the desire to write more in the future. With a BFAs accolade added to her CV, we have every faith it's just around the corner...
