As Brad Pitt Wears Leather Trousers, We Ask Should A Guy Go Hell For Leather?

24 June 2013 by

We once thought that Brad Pitt was such dreamboat that he could do no wrong, but it turns out we were mistaken. The actor walked the red carpet for the opening night of the 2013 Moscow International Film Festival last week wearing leather trousers, and looking very smug about it too.

Once the trews of choice for bikers and metallers, leather kecks (and leather-look kecks) have become increasingly popular in recent times thanks to support from chic French brands like Isabel Marant and Balmain. Kate Moss is a fan. Victoria Beckham is a fan. And while we’d never question the appeal of channeling Sandy from 'Grease', we're not sure we want to see such sartorial sass on a 49-year-old father of six. Sorry Brad!

This isn't the first time the 'World War Z' star has gone hell for leather. He also wore motorcycle-style pants to walk the red carpet at the premiere of 'Megamind' in 2010 - and back in 1997 Bradders felt so comfortable in cow hide that he chose to sit in slouchy leather pants on a long haul flight. We doubt even VB would go that far.

Brad shares his love of leather britches with some reasonably good company. There's Kanye West, a keen follower of fashion, who wears his clingy leather trousers like he's goading someone to make a comment; Justin Bieber, who combines a daring fabric with a daring silhouette - long in crotch and tight in ankle; and Lenny Kravitz, who is a genuine rock star so we'll leave him alone. Lest we forget David Beckham's crowning leather moment? Yes please!

These chaps would be wise to remember a lesson from Ross Geller - it's all fun and games until you can't get them off.
