We thought we'd seen Beyoncé work every look there is, as in her time at the top she has tried everything from wild Kenzo to scout uniforms to bootilicious Barbie fringing. We're certainly used to seeing Bey drenched in glitter, but for her Flaunt cover the fashion magpie has taken it one step further.
For her risky cover she is basically dressed as an Oscar statue, as she is naked and sprayed in layers of metallic bodypaint. It's all very Sasha Fierce. The sensual cover which sees Bey literally dripping in gold, was photographed by Tony Duran as part of her Year of 4 album promotion back in 2011.
Inside the mag she talks about being seen as a gay icon like Judy Garland, Barbra Streisand and Madonna revealing: 'I'm flattered if I'm in the company of those great women. I think they love that we are bold, unafraid to love, and flaunt our sexuality and strength.'
We're used to seeing Beyoncé turn up the volume with her long honey locks, but for her Flaunt cover we can't spot one single hair on top of her head. Now that's a Bey move we wouldn't have predicted.
Is it just us or are daring metallic bodysuits having a bit of a moment? Just last week we saw Kate Moss in a shimmery metallic bodysuit with some pointy boob action in a photograph by Allen Jones, which will go for auction at Christie's in September.
