It was a British invasion in New York last night. 'It' girls Alexa Chung, Tali Lennox and Atlanta de Cadenet Taylor ate scones and partied with some Downton Abbey folk (including a dark haired Dan Stevens) for the launch of British Airways and VisitBritain's The Big British Invite pop-up event. Of course there were also lots of red phone boxes to give the NY party goers the perfect Instagram op.
The Mod - Tali Lennox in Louis Vuitton
The award for the most Brit-tastic outfit of all goes to Ms Tali Lennox who went all out mod in a Louis Vuitton black and white check shift, monochrome ankle strap heels and a black cap, with a red fur thrown over her arm. She’s the latest star to join the LV check brigade, as Kirsten Dunst, Jessica Alba and more have all worn the 60s Spring 2013 print. Will the LV love ever end?
The Lady - Alexa Chung in Carven
Alexa Chung looked very prim and proper in a Carven Spring 2013 jacket and A Line skirt with a buttoned up white shirt underneath. If you are feeling flush, you can buy the Carven linnen cotton felted jacket for £730 and the skirt for £360 from Harvey Nichols. Is it just us or is there something rather Kate Middleton about this look? We're not used to seeing Alexa in smart tailoring, as she rarely branches out from her hipster meets school girl fashion formula.
She added some classic Chung accessories, as she had Alice in Wonderland-esque mushroom nail art and her lucky charm, the pineapple brooch. If you haven't noticed the Chungster is a liitle bit obsessed with pineapples, as she has worn it schoolgirl pinafores and jumper dresses on the FROW before.
The London look - Atlanta de Cadenet Taylor
As for Atlanta de Cadenet Taylor, she got the London look in an ice blue top and cream mini with a leopard perspex clutch. How very prim and proper of her! It's worlds away from the rocker tees and leather minis we saw her working during London Fashion Week.
