The CFDA Awards took place in New York last night and we brought you all the looks as the stars and designers hit the red carpet at Lincoln Center.
Attendees included Hilary Clinton, who presented the Founder's Award in Honor of Eleanor Lambert to Oscar de la Renta, Ralph Lauren, who handed the Geoffrey Beene Lifetime Achievement Award to Vera Wang and actress Jessica Chastain, fresh from her appearance at Sound for Change, who bestowed the International Award to Givenchy's Riccardo Tisci. Supermodel Linda Evangelista (The Media Award in honor of Eugenia Sheppard to Tim Blanks) and actress Kerry Washington (Womenswear Designer of the Year) also presented alongside Ethan Hawke (Board of Directors Tribute to Colleen Atwood), Dan Stevens (Menswear Designer of the Year) and Rose Byrne (Accessories Designer of the Year). Young Romeo and Juliet co-stars Hailee Steinfeld and Douglas Booth joined forces to present the coveted Swarovski Award for Womenswear.
It wasn't a huge surprise on the night to see flame haired Jessica Chastain on the arm of Ricardo Tisci in a custom Givenchy creation. The actress, who presented Tisci with his award at the ceremony, styled the black, strapless, knee-length frock very simply with a pair of Givenchy sandals and a sleek up-do.
Meanwhile Rooney Mara wore Calvin Klein as she hit the red carpet with the brand's creative director Francisco Costa. Other designer and muse pairings included Zac Posen and Juliette Lewis, Prabal Gurung and Candice Swanepoel, Rachel Roy and Jessica Hart and Alexander Wang and Erin Wasson. Lucky Michael Kors got the chance to escort two lovely ladies down the red carpet, model Karolina Kurkova and actress Cody Horn. Naturally the trio made a very glamorous entrance.
Kurkova wasn't the only Victoria's Secret Angel to attend the event. Miranda Kerr, Adriana Lima, Alessandra Ambrosio, Jessica Stam and Lily Aldridge all walked the red carpet too. Aldridge wore a dress by last year's Womenswear Designer of the Year recipients, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen for The Row. Ashley was notably absent this year, but we did do a double take when we saw Mary-Kate arm-in-arm with little sister Elizabeth. There may be a family similarity, but Elizabeth is notably taller than her older siblings. Nicole Richie's stylist Cher Coulter told us about her client's Marc Jacobs look: "It was a collaborative effort. We were going for modern-day disco glamour."
