Fashion month is finally here! The fash pack are taking over New York this week, as Fashion Week begins today (eek!) and last night to celebrate NYFW Eve they all gathered at the amFAR Gala Benefit.
Front row darlings Alexa Chung, Poppy Delevingne, Leigh Lezark, Sarah Jessica Parker and Karlie Kloss all attended the event, and gave us some clues of what is to come style wise at the shows this year. Poppy Delevingne was the it-brit, SJP went for boho luxe in Maison Martin Margiela, while Alexa went girly hipster chic in Chanel, bien sur.
See all the best dresses from the Gala and our breakdown of the frocks below...
The it-girl girly dress
Alexa Chung looked oh-so pretty in black and white tweed Chanel dress with signature pearl detailing and PVC Chanel pumps. It's girly, simple and chic. ♥
The trying too hard dress
Chloe Sevingy may be wearing heeled boots and a loose midi, but she still looks like she's trying way too hard. The red lips, the statement blazer, the slit, the look-at-me print, the centre parting = overload.
The luxe runway dress
SJP wore a hot pink Maison Martin Margiela strapless gown to the event with a monochrome patterned skinny sash, with a long white fur thrown over the top. It's high fashion (Anna Dello Russo meets Carrie Bradshaw with a touch of Cruella) but does this look actually work off the catwalk?
The it-brit dress
Poppy Delevingne has the ticket to be front row royalty this season - she's got the supermodel sis and is BFFs with fashion week veteran Alexa. She may be wearing a strappy silver princess heels and carrying an embellished sparkly bag but the dress adds a cool London edge, with the sleeves and detailing.
The divorce dress
Enter the divorce dress - Heidi Klum wore a Michael Kors black halter with crystal embroidery, a plunging V and exposed back. Heidi Klum could give a masterclass in post-divorce, revenge dressing.
The super black dress
Lily Donaldson and Leigh Lezark went for knock out black gowns with leather and lace detailing.
The winter white dress
Karlie Kloss wore a simple Michael Kors white shift with silver python sandals, while Christine Teigen went for a white sleeved jersey gown with the focus all on the plunging V.
The look-at-me dress
Plus size model Crystal Renn is clearly keen to showcase her teeny tiny waist, as she went Old Hollywood in a red satin gown, with capped sleeves, a giant fishtail and a matching dramatic red pout. Totally OTT yes, but is this the perfect 'look at the new, fabulous me dress?'
The 'how old are you?' dress
Oh Lindsay Lohan... we are struggling for words here. Linds may only be 26, but the clunky metallic heels, the unbrushed hair and the silver fringed gown (which makes her look like she's been wrapped up in 50p tinsel) makes her look a couple decades older (at least).
