From London to Jamaica Kate's been looking great [Rex]
No one could ever doubt that the Kate Moss effect is still as potent as ever. Celebrating 25 years in the fashion industry and with her 40th birthday approaching in a few weeks’ time, there’s been no end to the Mossy magic sprinkled over countless campaigns, parties and photoshoots in 2013. More to come in 2014, we’re sure. But why has this seasonsed style pro secured her spot in the top ten? Surely the enduring legacy of her wondrous wardrobe – which continues to amaze us in it’s impressive construction of failsafe signatures worn with conviction, coolness and always a Kate twist or two – doesn’t disappoint. Scruffy Kate is just an achingly hip as super-glossy Kate or fancy dress Kate, but it’s this skinny-jean-loving girl’s holiday wardrobe that cemented her place in the grain of this year’s fashion reading.
The Moss holiday marathon may have been extensive, but, as always, her wardrobe was concise. She did some damn good capsule packing: a few evening dresses, that trusty waistcoat and cut-off shorts, a selection of gold trinkets (her Annina Vogel arm cuffs were ever present), easy-peasy simple bikinis, a dash of leopard print and a Goyard tote took Mossy from yacht to beach to bar and back again.
Fun times with hubbie Jamie and Co. started way back in April and stretched well on into autumn but a few London looks stood out, too. Namely her black Prada ‘50s style zip-up dress and Manolo Blahnik strappy So Kate sandals. Worn for her launch of mobile accessories with Carphone Warehouse – we don’t think an ambassador of technology has ever looked quite so sexy.
