Barcelona Beach Runs, Theme Parks And Boat Trips: Inside The Launch Of The Nike Free Trainer

08 April 2013 by

Lucky us, we travelled to Barcelona last week for the launch of Nike's brand new lightweight running trainer, the Nike Free. After arriving in sunny Spain we checked into the amazing W hotel and found the latest Nike training gear neatly laid out on our beds, heaven! So it was a quick change into our Nike Free 5.0s and out into the sunshine to begin our sporty adventure.

After a ramble along the seaside, we headed up into the cable car where we were whisked upto the highest point in the city. Proving that one really can exercise absolutely anywhere, we got trampolining as a warm up for the rest of the activities planned for us.

A rather steep mountain run came next, but boy oh boy was our huffing and puffing worth the view. And we looked pretty darn snazzy in our rainbow hues of Nike Free trainers!

We were rewarded for our short but super-steep jog with some super-cool breakdancers-slash-bass jumpers and then we hit up a theme park opened after hours just for us!

The next morning, we headed to the beach, to try out our trainers on the sand - needless to say our Nike Free's were much more capable than us when it came to beach running...but hey, what a great leg work-out! We cooled down by jumping aboard a fleet of Nike boats, and enjoyed the views of Barcelona from the sea.

Once back on dry land we jumped onto some very cute city bikes and went for a ride along the wide Spanish streets, all the way to Nike's Barcelona HQ. Here we had a snoop around the latest range of trainers and training gear.

Even after body-crushing on Nike's sporty mannequins (check out those abs!), we managed to chow down on a seriously slap up meal in the Nike office gardens. We could really get used to this!

We got an interesting insight into Nike's long and colourful history, before heading off to dinner and waving goodbye to our beautiful Barcelona views. Check out the full range of Nike Free trainers, as well as Nike ID customisable ones on the Nike website here...
