We were already pretty excited about the prospect of the Cannes Film Festival 2013 due to the long-awaited premiere of Baz Luhrmann's The Great Gatsby, which is opening this year's event. Now it has been revealed that one of our favourite Gallic actresses, Audrey Tautou, will be taking on the role of Mistress of Ceremonies during the cinematic extravaganza. The Priceless star will be heading to the French Riviera between 15th and 26th May to fulfill the duties of the position, which were last year undertaken by actress Berenice Bejo who might remember from a certain little Oscar-winning film called The Artist.

Audrey walked the red carpet at Cannes last year for a screening of Claude Miller’s posthumous film Thérèse Desqueyroux during the closing ceremony. For the 66th festival the Amélie actress will preside over both the opening ceremony on 15th May and the prize-giving finale on 26th May and welcome the President of the Festival de Cannes, Steven Spielberg, and his Jury onto the stage of the Grand Théâtre Lumière.

While Tautou may have worn Prada in Cannes last year, we reckon that the former face of Chanel No. 5 perfume, who starred as Coco Chanel in the 2009 film Coco Before Chanel, will wear a design by Karl Lagerfeld. The actress has previously worn Chanel for promotional tours and favours styles, which sit above the knee showing off her enviable pins. Perhaps one of these dresses from the brand's Spring Summer 2013 collection could be a winner.
