Romeo & Juliet [Swarovski]
Swarovski is the world's first luxury brand to step into the world of film-making, as on Friday the first film co-produced by Swarovski Entertainment, Romeo & Juliet, hits cinemas. The movie which stars Hailee Steinfeld and Douglas Both was written by Julian Fellows, who is a close friend of Nadja Swarovski, Chairperson of Swarovski Entertainment Ltd.
Nadja has said that 'Swarovski's move into film production is a natural evolution.' In fact, they have been providing sparkle for Hollywood since the 1930s. Swarovski has collaborated on many iconic productions including the Wizard of Oz, Gone With The Wind, Roman Holliday, Gentleman Prefer Blondes, Breakfast at Tiffany's, as well as recent blockbusters such as The Great Gatsby, Skyfall, Mirror Mirror and The Hunger Games. To celebrate the official arrival of Swarovski at the cinema this weekend, we have raided the Swarovski archived and found some real gems. These exclusive images include one fabulous shot of Marilyn in powder pink satin sprinkled in crystals in Gentleman Prefer Blondes.
Nadja Swarovski, Chairperson of Swarovski Entertainment Ltd and one of the film’s producers, commented: 'Swarovski has worked with talents in costume and set design ever since the emergence of the silver screen, and we are committed to supporting creativity across industries such as fashion, jewellery, design and film. Romeo & Juliet felt like the perfect project to deepen that involvement and collaborate with established visionaries like Ileen and Julian whilst also supporting today’s emerging talent. The young stars have a chemistry that translates beautifully onto the big screen and will captivate audiences around the world for years to come.'
