As Princesses Beatrice And Eugenie Kick Off Their Great Britain Mini Tour Let's Take A Look At What They Might Wear

17 January 2013 by

Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie kick off their Great Britain Mini Tour today which sees them visiting 16 German states over the next year in order to promote the best of British culture. And what better way to make an entrance than in a Union Jack Mini? The Italian Job eat your heart out.

Yes, that's right; the girls will be rocking up to fulfil their roles as trade ambassadors for GB in a quirky British-designed Mini Cooper. We wonder what road trip essentials the tour will include. It's doubtful the pair will be stopping at service stations for toilet breaks, but we reckon they’ll pack a hefty stock of wine gums and play a few games of "One spies with one's little eye".

Beginning at the Brandenburg Gate today, the princesses are due to attend the Bread & Butter trade fair in Berlin, where British brands French Connection, Tatty Devine and Superdry are represented. With UK labels in mind it's likely that the duo will follow in the footsteps of Kate Middleton, who wore pieces by Alexander McQueen, Mulberry and Alice Temperley on her Jubilee Tour of the Far East last year.

Let's have a rummage through Beatrice and Eugenie's royal wardrobes and take a guess at what we can expect...

1. Matchy matchy

It looks like Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie have been taking a few tips from the fashion bloggers by [a href="/fashion/news/twinning-style--meet-the-bloggers-at-the-forefront-of-the-matchy-matchy-trend">channelling twin style[/a]. Or maybe they were way ahead of the curve with their matchy matchy headbands, handbags and shoes.

2. Colour pop

These ladies are not afraid to experiment with colour, whether that's canary yellow or magical magenta. There's just one rule: always match your dress to your accessories.

3. Head start

From baby bows to the crazy bows, every royal occasion deserve a head piece. How could one forget the [a href="/fashion/archive/2011/10/10/trick-or-treat-costumes-2012--princess-beatrices-hat-is-our-top-halloween-pick.htm">Philip Treacy designed hat[/a] that Beatrice wore to Kate and William's wedding in 2011? It almost inspired as many column inches as Pippa Middleton's bottom!

4. Sombre and sophisticated

When in the presence of Mario Testino one must be a little more fashwan. After ditching the twin sets and fascinators the girls get it spot on with a winning combination of monochrome, navy and Kate Middleton-esque glossy manes.

5. Boots are made for walking

Not every royal event requires high octane glamour. For a jaunt in the country Beatrice and Eugenie dig out their walking boots - heeled of course.

6. Sparkle and shine

What we've come to learn and love about the young royals is that they do love to party. Cue sequins, silk, chiffon and jewels.

7. Wrap it up

Just like Kate Middleton, the Princesses do appreciate good outerwear. It's all about a British heritage twist from tweed to naval.

8. Hell for leather

No need to conform to tradition 24/7. These modern princesses are just at home in a trendy club as they are at Royal Ascot.
