At Erdem: "I might look like the loner to the untrained eye, but if you look a little closer you'll see the fashion gods hovering just above my left hand shoulder. For the record, I am NEVER alone."

At Calvin Klein

"Gah, don't look to your left, don't look to your left. This is as awkward as that time I sat next to Miley Cyrus on a transatlantic flight. I spent 7 hours hiding in a magazine - Horse and Hounds no less. Torture."

At Victoria Beckham: "If I'd have brought a bigger purse, I'd slip that kid right in it. Where's one's Mulberry Willow tote when one needs it?"

As we stride past the halfway point of the Spring/Summer 14 collections, (Thanks New York! Cheers London!) and make the move across the channel onto Milan and Paris, we think it's time to take a pause to take our hats off to one little lady who, in our opinion, is winning at fashion week. No, not models-of-the moment Cara Delevingne or Karlie Kloss. We are, of course, talking about fashion's original maven and editor-in-chief of Vogue - Anna Wintour.

Slipping effortlessly from FROW to FROW - always with time for a subtle but effective outfit change inbetween naturally - she's appeared at every show from Topshop Unique (seated next to Phillip Green of course) to Tom Ford, Calvin Klein and Gucci.

The problem is - master of the poker face that she is - it's almost impossible to tell what's running through La Wintour's mind. Luckily, we've enlisted the help of some serious body language experts/asked Mick, Grazia Towers' doorman for his opinion, and have finally settled the age-old question of just what goes on behind Anna Wintour's fabulous dark glasses.

Click through the gallery above for in depth, up-to-date analysis of fashion's most notorious mind.
