Anna Friel On Loving The Vintage Fashion In New Film 'Look Of Love': EXCLUSIVE

We think you’ll agree that Anna Friel looked pretty darn awesome at the Look Of Love premiere in London last night in a trademark vintage style Trager Delaney mustard yellow dress. And in this week’s issue of Grazia we speak to the actress about starring in the Paul Raymond biopic alongside Steve Coogan, her new role as ambassador for natural skincare brand Trilogy, having vampire facials and how she ruddy loves vintage clothes!

‘I adore vintage,’ she told us. ‘The first thing I do when I arrive in a city is google vintage stores. It all started when I was filming Pushing Daisies in LA in 2007 and we visited the costumiers that have been supplying the Warner Brothers Studios since 1910. It really inspired me. My first ever piece was an Edwardian lace dress which I still have. I also like Celine, Victoria Beckham’s collections and Lanvin.

It’s no surprise appearing in a film that spans from the 1950s to the 1980s was a dream come true for Anna, 36. 'I loved the ‘70s costumes because I really like the short dresses and that whole Jane Birkin look. There was an amazing white toga dress in one scene which was beautiful and I had to be careful not to get my fake tan all over it. But by far my favourite was a purple velvet suit which she wears in court when she’s divorcing Paul. It was copied from a suit Jean Raymond [Paul Raymond’s wife] actually owned, we found an original. I didn't get to keep any of the clothes because they were all hired. It was so annoying!'

In the Michael Winterbottom film, Anna has to age 36 years in some of the later scenes. But Trilogy’s new ambassador is vigilant when it comes to looking youthful herself. Her favourite products are Trilogy’s Rosehip Oil Antioxidant+ and Everything Balm. She also has regular ‘vampire’ and Cryoderm facials. ‘If you’re vain, as you get older you start thinking, “I’ve got to do everything I can to save my skin.” I’ve tried everything.’
