Last night, she was wowing the world with her return to the red carpet in a black floor-sweeper and 24 hours later, Angelina Jolie is back to black - and Saint Laurent. In a double whammy for the French fashion house, La Jolie has opted to wear Hedi Slimane's sleek creations for two nights on the trot - this time, wearing a sharp suit for World War Z's Paris premiere. Mais oui!
Supporting Brad Pitt at the event, Angelina once again was careful not to upstage her husband-to-be by keeping her look low-key and subdued. Underneath the wool sable suit, the actress wore a black silk mousseline blouse and added a skinny leather belt, ladylike heels and Vermeil jewellery. Brad also went wore noir and the pair once again looked perfectly co-ordinated with their matchy-matchy hair now swept into complementary ponytails. The head-to-toe black may be in tribute to Angelina's aunt, Debbie Martin, whose funeral took place yesterday after she passed away of breast cancer last week.
But what of Angelina's Hedi love? This is now the third time the star has donned a Saint Laurent creation - the first being in early April when she wore a floor-skimming dress and long cape from the Spring Summer 2013 finale. Next, Mr Slimane designed the gown she wore at yesterday's premiere in London especially for her and tonight's continued love-in certainly ups Angie's cool credentials in the eyes of the fash-pack.
We asked Grazia's Senior Fashion News & Features Editor, Katherine Ormerod, to give her verdict...
'It's easy to forget what a hell-raiser Ms Jolie was pre-Pitt and global family - but if you look back a short decade you'll recall she was like a female James Dean, full of rebellion. Over the years her political voice has become more focused and she's settled into becoming a more mature revolutionary - but that doesn't mean she's forgotten her fire.
By so publicly supporting Hedi Slimane she is sending the following messages to the fashion industry and beyond: 1. She doesn't care about the 'industry' or critical persecutive on fashion (Slimane's collections have faced mixed reviews from fashion editors since his debut line for Saint Laurent) and 2. That she still identifies with the voice of rock 'n' roll style (aka Monsieur Slimane).
A friend to the embattled artist and an enduring rebel spirit, Jolie's fashion choices - like everything in her elegantly managed life - are more than just nice dresses.'
Agreed? Either way, we highly approve. Relive Angelina's greatest style moments in the gallery below...
