Last season Alexander Wang tapped Polish blonde beauty Malgosia Bela and photographer Steven Klein for his Spring Summer 2013 campaign - and as we all know, if a fashion formula ain't broke, don't fix it. The designer has reunited with Klein and his model muse for Autumn Winter 2013 and the new campaign retains the same monochromatic palette and androgynous vibes as the previous season.
The black and white shots were taken at Steiner Studios in Brooklyn, New York and feature Bela in profile. In the first pic to be released the model can be seen holding onto a railing against the backdrop of bright studio lights and smoke in what looks like a still from a movie. Wang himself said of the concept, “We wanted something cinematic, but in the sense that it was more behind the scenes, catching the off moments of luminous victory.”
You'll have to wait until the Autumn Winter issues of Love magazine and CR Fashion Book to see the campaign in full, but it's not the first ad this season to feature a black and white colour palette. Sienna Miller and her fella Tom Sturridge locked lips for Burberry, Cara Delevingne channeled 90s grunge for Saint Laurent and Carine Roitfeld and her daughter Julia were a mother-daughter modelling duo for Givenchy - all in monochrome tones.
