On The Road! Join Poppy Delevingne And Alexa Chung On Their Fabulous Road Trip

04 July 2014 by

In the latest edition of The Edit Poppy Delevingne and Alexa Chung go on the road with a suitcase packed with white lace, fringed suede, chokers and denim cut-offs. The tagline for the trip is ‘Eat, drink and try not to kill each other.’ Poppy Delevingne has written an accompanying essay documenting her friendship with Alexa.

Poppy first met a skinny-jean-clad Alexa on a casting 10 years ago. The turning point in their friendship was when the pair went skinny-dipping in the sea at Cannes. Poppy writes: "At 4am, rummaging through bushes for our stray couture, I realized it wasn’t just another friendship."

There are a number of hilarious anecdotes in the piece - the time Chung fell asleep at a craps table because she 'can't actually drink very much.' When they stayed up playing the paino in Shanghai.

We imagine packing for a holiday with Alexa Chung is a slightly daunting prospect and Poppy agrees. She writes: "I always pack to excess. I’ll bring a suitcase the size of a dining table and still wear the same jeans, Converse and hideous sweater I’ve owned since I was 13. She, on the other hand, will bring a suitcase the size of a piece of calamari and yet each day she’ll wear something mouth-wateringly stylish. Actually, everything she wears she makes desirable – I told her to try my engagement ring on once and I fell in love with it even more seeing it on her finger."

Our favourite bit about the feature however is the video where the girls sit at a bar and kind of, sort of interview each other. Alexa comes out with all the good questions: Who would you rather be Kate Moss or Cara Delevingne? What's the inside of a Kangaroo's pouch like? Would you rather be a girl or a boy? Pull up a seat with the girls by watching the video below...
