We’ve spilled a lot of (virtual) ink documenting how much we adore Alexa Chung, but it's not just her wonderful style and trademark eyeliner we're enamoured with. Alexa is also an excellent dinner companion. Last night, Grazia Daily was invited to a beauty banquet at London's Soho Hotel hosted by the lady herself in honour of her collaboration with Eyeko (she's the brand's creative consultant, dontcha know). We dined on scallops and apple crumble while Alexa, who looked gorgeously Frenchy in a Carven dress, regaled us with tales of her raucous 30th birthday party(s) and early modelling days. Want to know what else we talked about? Then consider yourself a fly on the wall...

Alexa's feeling positive about being 30
After reaching the milestone last year, she's enjoying 'being young for your decade again. It also means you can look back on your life and realise that it's going okay and you've actually achieved quite a lot'. We'd say!
For her birthday celebrations, she had not one, but THREE parties
The first party was at a cottage in up-state New York with 12 friends and a karaoke machine, the other was in New York City and she had one at the London Edition Hotel for all her UK friends. Hello Grimmy, Daisy, Florence, Kelly, Harry...

The party in London was the wildest
So wild, in fact, that the revellers wrecked the brand new penthouse suite at the Edition Hotel. The next day, Alexa 'woke up face down on the bed wearing half a tuxedo with my friend Gillian'. A member of staff came in at 3pm to kick them out. 'It was like being a kid when your mum tells you to get out of bed but you can't move, you know?'. Yep, we totally know.
At the start of her career, she dreamed about getting free bags
It's easy to forget Alexa started her career as a model at Storm, the same agency that kick-started a certain Mossy's career. It was there that the style-star-to-be would enviously watch a parade of designer handbags arrive for Kate. 'It was at the time when everyone wanted a Mulberry Bayswater and I thought if I ever get to the point when I'm getting free bags, everything will be okay'. Little did she know she'd eventually have one named after her. Go Alexa!

She didn't want to travel as a model
'I had the opportunity to fly around the world and go to shoots in Paris, but I didn't want to,' she tells us of her modelling days. 'It was when I was dating an older guy [David Titlow] and I just thought, 'I'd rather hang out in London''.
Her house is a shambles
Of course, now Alexa is constantly travelling around the world (we last saw her in Milan, remember?) and that means no time for organising her many glorious clothes. 'I can never find the shoes I need because I don't have time to unpack and get my flat sorted before I'm off again'.
Alexa Chung x Eyeko
With dinner and chats over, Alexa posed for a series of Instagram snaps, playfully sprawled across a pair of stone leopards before dishing out packs of Eyeko goodies (Chung is a fan of the new smudgy brush and using neutral colours). She then headed off to a Klaxons gig and we headed home happy that one of our dream dinner scenarios had finally come true :)
