Kate Moss is excellent at wearing clothes and – as her long-running Topshop collaboration proved – no slouch at designing them either. So when the news emerged this week that she was due to create a new range for a high-street retailer, it didn't come as a big surprise. We were more taken aback that it wasn't for Miss Selfridge, Whistles or H&M. Oh no. Readers, the fruits of Kate’s creative labours will be for popular mobile phone emporium, the Carphone Warehouse.
Now we have actual proof of the exclusive partnership described as a ‘pioneer convergence of fashion and technology’ in which Mossy will create a range of fashion accessories for smartphones and tablets.
Not only are there pictures of Kate Moss – supermodel, best friend to Marc Jacobs and Stella McCartney and star of a squillion magazine covers – sitting down to pore over some sketches of the tech accessories, but Carphone Warehouse interviewed the model and sent out a release with this quote from the lady herself...
‘My phone's as much a part of my look as my bag or shoes, and yet there’s so little choice out there. My whole approach was to treat this as any other fashion collaboration; I was heavily involved in the design process and loved seeing my vision come to life in the final product. From the quality of materials to design, I wanted the best for my range that reflected my personal style’, said Kate.
As a stamp of authenticity, the logo for the range is a cute hand-drawn anchor, just like Kate’s wrist tattoo. Images of the collection have not yet been released, so instead we’ve had a go at guessing what sort of thing might be involved. Scroll through the gallery above for KM’s visual trademarks.
