V Festival 2014: See All The Best Dressed Stars

17 August 2014 by

Every pop/rock chick understands the fantastic fashion opportunities up for grabs when dressing for a festival. Especially when there's no camping required. London's V Festival kicked off this weekend with an excellent showcase of style on, off and behind the stage...

A huge trend of the 2014 festival circuit has been the crop-top and we've seen many here too, from Foxes to Kaya Scodelario and Lily Allen. Diana Vickers teamed her '90s high-necked cropped tee with some utilitarian-style dungarees to keep hers low-key. There's still a penchant for teaming a slouchy parka & boyish boots with a pretty, boho dress a la Millie Mackintosh and Denise Van Outen. Leather bikers are a festival perennial and - dare we say it - genius! A light but warm layer, it's the luxe item to layer over a ditzy floral dress or shorts and a tee - see Sunday Girl and Zara Martin.

This year, even Instagram were back stage snapping the best dressed stars in the ‘Instagram Studio’ encouraging the likes of Pixie Lott and Elle Eyre to strike a pose.

On stage meanwhile, Rita Ora wore a bodysuit-come-cape fringed with what looked like her very own hair (or should we say wig?), complete with a pretty high knicker line. Lily Allen donned simple festi-chic for her performance, in cut-off denims and a cropped leather biker - all the better to show off her killer new bod! Those mysterious cartoon baby bottles made another appearance on stage too...

The beauty of festival dressing is that it's high style meets fancy dress: anything goes, from a giant yeti-style fur (Millie Mackintosh enjoyed numerous outfit changes) to quilted neon (Pixie Lott) and boyish boots, leathers and gangsta gold chains (All Saints' reunion look!).
